Another One in the Books! San Gabriel River Cleanup

On Sunday, May 31st, 8 am to 12 noon, our chapter returned to the San Gabriel River watershed with co-host the Aquarium of the Pacific for the 3rd Annual Cleanup.

Nearly 100 community members from near and far joined us for yet another successful haul of waste, diverting ~2,600 pounds (1.3 tons) of trash from our ocean in just four hours!

Since our inaugural event back in 2024, which started off as a bit of a whim due to our team's desire to protect the threatened population of East Pacific Green Sea Turtles who reside in this portion of the outpour, the San Gabriel River cleanup has now become quite the vested interested of the chapter. We are devoted to maintaining a healthier ecosystem for all to enjoy and look forward to continually scaling our efforts in the years to come.

Thank you to our partners at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn's office, Los Angeles County Public Works, and Long Beach Councilmember Kristina Duggan's office for their unwavering support of our work. We truly could not do it without you all!
